KhammamUmarani

Khammam Umarani: I am Khammam Umarni, W/o. Madhu, aged: 31 years resident of Gummuduru village of Mahabubabad mandal & district of Telangana state. We have living from 15 years in the village. We have 1 children (Boy) name is Khammam Manoj, age: 15 years, studying 10th class in Siddartha High School, Mahabubabad. Out family occupation is selling provisions & spices in weekly shandies in and around villages in 15 to 40 kms radius. We are earning Rs.500 to 800 every from this activity. We have an owned auto for transportation of selling provisions.

We were living in a unfinished house consist of 3 rooms., 1 Hall, 1 Bedroom. (260 sft built-up area and Vacant area is 650 sft) since 8 years. Out house was so congested as we are using most of our living space for storage provisions & stock.

We are planning for 5 years to construct additional rooms including living room, kitchen and storage room.

We have approached local SBI bank and applied loan for construction of additional rooms. Since 4 years we are requesting the bank managers to support our family by providing home loan. But the bankers were not interested due to they did not believe on our income source & repayment status.

I have shared with the banker that I am an regular members in our Pragathi MFI for last 10 years, and showed the passbooks of last 5 loans taken i.e, Rs.10000 for son’s education loan for 1, Rs.15000/- for house construction in inside 1 loan and remaining 3 loans (15000+20000+15000) for purchase of provisions and stock for our business. The total loans are repaid on time to MFI.

During the January 2017, GFS has organized housing scheme meeting at our Mahabubabad branch office and explained the loan products. As per the norms of the GFS we are eligible for availing loan under Habitat housing project and GFS Technical Officer has sanctioned a Rs. 75000/-, In addition we have also contributed sweat equity worth of an amount Rs.12000/- and our own savings contribution an amount of Rs.50000/-. The estimation cost of Rs.78000/-.

Till the day, we have spent for house construction Rs.1,25,000/- (Including our loans Rs.75000) and we have not availed any govt. schemes.

Now we have completed our house with required facilities i.e., toilets, living room, kitchen and store room. Now our family living condition has increased and we are happy living in our new home. The availability of separate store room has increased the inventory vis-s-via income by Rs.5000/- to Rs.7000/- per month as compared to the earlier situation.
